After a short bus ride near campus, we arrived to the trolley station. This is a photo of our team waiting to jump on the trolley to Barrio Logan.

Capturing the moment exactly as the trolley arrived! It seemed as if it took forever because all of the seats at the trolley stop were taken so I was standing in the sun. Shortly after I took this photo, I quickly boarded the trolley but apparently not everyone was quick enough.
Two of my friends got left behind at the trolley station!

This was the view of a mural across the trolley tracks that I was able to enjoy for about 20 minutes because we had to wait for our classmates to get to the stop by taking the next trolley.
Our entire group was divided into three smaller groups so we could all have separate guides to teach us about the park. My group's guide was names Jesse Constancio and we met up at the Emiliano Zapata statue. Immediately I felt drawn into what Jesse had to say because it was easily clear that he was passionate about what the history and his knowledge of the park.

At the end of our tour, I got the chance to step aside and talk to Jesse about my uncle and the history of Chicano Park to hear what it was like from his point of view since he's actually lived it. It was awesome to hear about all of my uncle's achievements and how he set an example to stand up for what you believe in.

This is my lunch from Las Cuatro Milpas! For many students in my class this was their first time, but my family & I are quite familiar with the place. I knew exactly what to order because I get the same thing everytime; one beef taco; small chorizo with rice on top, and a lemonade. After lunch, we headed back to school and wrapped up our trip.
