Drafting
When initially starting our brainstorming sessions of what to write about, the first thing we were asked was "what is the one story you know you don't want to write about?" as we wrote it in our journals. After we had taken the time to reflect and decide, our teacher pointed out that the things we don't want to talk about are often the things we have the most to say about.
This theory was not proven true for all of my classmates, but it was true for me. The story that I specifically chose to not write about, ended up the story I spent a majority of my semester working on through multiple drafts.
Our goal for each draft was to dig deeper and find the power of ourselves through it. Each draft of our stories were evolving.
